Darcie got her toenails all dolled up for the roadtrip.
We spent 2 days in Zion National Park in Southern Utah. Took us about 18 hours to get there. Weather was great!
A lot of the natural rock was red and so were the roads.
Someone built a funny snowman on the road to Kolob reservoir.
We found the Michael Fatali School of Photography in Springdale, just outside of the park. This truck was parked on the lawn. Michael Fatali is a great American photographer who has done a lot of stunning landscape work in Utah and around the world.
One of the many souvenir shops in Springdale
We saw this lizard at the visitors' center.
Saw lots of deer too
The sky and mountains were spectacular! This area is called the Court of the Patriarchs.

Here we are on the Grotto Trail
Photographer taking advantage of the pleasant weather and nice rock walls.
Darcie spotted this pretty portrait spot under this gnarly tree.
The checkerboard mesa can be seen on the rocks behind the trees. The crisscross patterns are a result of weathering and erosion of the Navajo sandstone.
We drove through St. George on the way to Vegas and stopped at the St. George temple.
The St. George temple is actually the first and oldest operating temple in modern times, made of sandstone plastered white. It is also one of only nine temples without a statue of the angel Moroni (as is the Cardston Alberta temple).
One of the few places we hadn't visited in our previous trips to Vegas was the Liberace museum.
Some of Liberace's cars
Some of Liberace's pianos
Cly ran into some storm troopers patrolling the desert passage stores on the strip.
We walked around the Red Rock Hotel & Casino. It's a really nice place pretty far off the strip on the way to Red Rock Canyon.
The interior of the Red Rock is one of the nicest we've seen.
We stopped at a Lamborghini dealership
The dealership had a few other makes of cars too
The Bass Pro store in Las Vegas is definitely the largest outdoor/hunting store we've ever been to!
lots of fancy firearms
Breakdancing elk at Bass Pro. The Bass Pro people must want to attract a younger market.
40,000 gallon fish tank
Check out the painted fish in the parking lot of Bass Pro
